French Guiana: Crique Korossibo

Revegetation and reforestation of an alluvial gold mine in northwestern French Guiana, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, accessible only by air, on a 30-hectare site rehabilitated the same year.

CHALLENGES

Limiting erosion, restoring the soil and its fertility, accelerating the natural regeneration of the exploited area by guaranteeing a significant biodiversity and limiting invasive species.

DEPLOYMENTS

2 days on site with a team of 2 people, 1 drone, and a limited load to facilitate logistics.

PROJECT MONITORING

Updated every 3 months from satellite imagery.

On-site visit by a MORFO employee for a complete drone analysis.

February 2022

Project deployment: 1 day of seed treatment preparation and seedpod production before delivery to site. 2 days on site.

March 2023

Follow-up visit and taking of images to update the monitoring tool.
